I'm really excited about being in the Fashion Photo Shoot that I'm going to be in. All thanks to my classmate Amanda Thompson because of her this fashion shoot is happening. I get to be a model for her shoot and I can't wait! I've always wanted to be a model and I love being in pictures. I will post pictures from the shoot on my blog in a few weeks. I also will post them on my facebook!

WIB's Board Meeting
On Tuesday I spoke in front of the board meeting called WIB (Workforce Investment Board) at CareerLink. The WIB receives grants from the government to allow them to open programs, training, and services to the Lehigh Valley. With the help from Janice Lipzin the director of visual Arts and education at Arts Quest and a classmate name Victor George. I spoke about the program I am in which is the Photo Design Project and it's about photography and graphic design.
I talked about where I was before the program, what I know now, how it has changed me, what I am proud of, how I benefit WIB, and what am I going to do when the program is over? Before the program I was unemployed with no skills or experience because I never had a job until I found WIB to give me a chance to succeed! What I know now is photography, graphic design, networking, social media, journalism, and interacting with people. The program changed me by realizing there are opportunities for people to be employed. I am proud of my accomplishments and knowing a lot more now than I did a year ago to have skills I can take to my next job. How I benefit WIB is by taking great photos, and placing them in a book to represent their training, and services for the Lehigh Valley. I am also using my graphic design skills to create flyers to show our community what WIB can really do for unemployed people. What I am going to do after the program is go to college to be a teacher for little children and to get a job with the skills I have to offer.
I am so proud of myself getting in front of the board meeting and talk to them about my experience. I knew I could do it and I wouldn't mind doing it again!

CareerLink Photoshoots
January 14, 2011 ALLENTOWN, PA Alena Middleton was photographed at CareerLink looking for help with employment. Middleton stopped in front of the mirror to check her appearance as if she was going to a job interview. January 14, 2011 (Reina Lopez/PDP).

I thought the idea of having them stand in front of the mirror underneath the quote "Would you hire this person?" was a creative way to take pictures. My instructors, classmates, and I setted up studio lights correctly for these photos. I made one of the photos black and white because it means something different when it's in color. I LOVE black and white pictures! Do you like the black and white or the color? And why?

My favorite photo is Cathy talking to students about Monster. Because she looks meaningful and I love the expression on her face as she was speaking. Which pictures do think has the most meaning and feeling to it?

I'm taking pictures of food more and more everyday! I was able to take my camera home over thanksgiving break. Taking pictures of every meal I ate and a few of them I cooked. I'm really practicing on taking better photos of food. Also, I took photos of my breakfast, dinner, and desserts. ANYTHING WITH FOOD!!! Tell me what you think of my pictures???????????????????????????
This picture is my favorite because of the vignetting and how the light touches the meal. It's my breakfast
which is scramble eggs with cheese, bologna, and some hot sauce. Also, aside of two types of bread with american cheese inside. Tell me what is your favorite photo and why???????????????????????

Little Black Girl Lost two
I'm a writer, but I also enjoy reading. I like reading books that catch my attention and focus me into the book. The type of books I enjoy reading are drama, action, and horror books. My favorite arthur is Keith Lee Johnson, and he wrote the book Little Black Girl Lost the series, and plenty of other books. I read the first part, and now I'm reading the second part, and eventually I'll read the third, fourth, and fifth parts. It is about a young teenage black girl that makes major decisions about her life. The choices she makes affects the people around her. I'd recommend this book to others because the story talks about how it was for black women in the 1950's. A book that I'm personally writing about is based on a young teenage girl that goes through tough experiences and realizes she is on her own at a early age. Anyone who wants to share me books they read or write do not hesitate to tell me I'm all ears!
MY BOOK
I'm so excited and nervous about writing my own book. My co-workers and myself are creating our own books. We decide on how we want to make it and what to put in it. I still don't know what I want to name my book. I do know what I like my book to be based on. The book would basically be about me and my stories that I like to share with the world. Things I like and dislike in my personal experiences from the past, present, and future accomplishments I like to overcome. Also, I'll try to find people similar to me and my stories so I can put a face to my story instead of my own. If anyone who wants to tell a story to me that I can relate to let me know. My intentions of this book is to inspire and relate to others, and their stories. I'm really looking forward of hearing from people and what they have to offer!
