This was taken at the Rose Gardens in Allentown, PA. It was a beautiful and sunny day out to take pictures of flowers. The Flower is one of my favorite photos that I've ever took!

The picture was taken at the Fish Hatchery in Allentown, PA. I use this photo for my business card. Once again I LOVE LOVE LOVE black and white pictures!

The young woman in the photo is very outgoing. She shares similar interests as I and has a wonderful personality. Your question is why does she have a red nose on her face?... Well she is into theatre and enjoys being on stage.

One day I was in my house and I seen my mother drain some pasta. So, I waited to take a great shot of the water draining from the drainer. It's an AMAZING  a picture!

Every first friday of the month in Betlehem, PA the Banana Factory is open to the commuinty. The one friday I seen a snake in one of the rooms. It was from a zoo near the area they wanted to come in and welcome people to go see their zoo.

This event was the 5K for women in Allentown, PA. The young lady was a runner to come in first. I got the photo by getting close to get a perfect shoot of her running and in
the air.

The Skills USA is a competition for students that attend a tech school while going to high school. The man in the picture is a judge for the culinary
arts section.

The photo was taken in Bethlehem, PA at the fire department. He is a
firefighter for the city of Bethlehem. One day at work I was assign to walk around the area and take pictures of who I meet.

WIB's Board Meeting

On Tuesday I spoke in front of the board meeting called WIB (Workforce Investment Board) at CareerLink. The WIB receives grants from the government to allow them to open programs, training, and services to the Lehigh Valley. With the help from Janice Lipzin the director of visual Arts and education at Arts Quest and a classmate name Victor George. I spoke about the program I am in which is the Photo Design Project and it's about photography and graphic design.

I talked about where I was before the program, what I know now, how it has changed me, what I am proud of, how I benefit WIB, and what am I going to do when the program is over? Before the program I was unemployed with no skills or experience because I never had a job until I found WIB to give me a chance to succeed! What I know now is photography, graphic design, networking, social media, journalism, and interacting with people. The program changed me by realizing there are opportunities for people to be employed. I am proud of my accomplishments and knowing a lot more now than I did a year ago to have skills I can take to my next job. How I benefit WIB is by taking great photos, and placing them in a book to represent their training, and services for the Lehigh Valley. I am also using my graphic design skills to create flyers to show our community what WIB can really do for unemployed people. What I am going to do after the program is go to college to be a teacher for little children and to get a job with the skills I have to offer.

I am so proud of myself getting in front of the board meeting and talk to them about my experience. I knew I could do it and I wouldn't mind doing it again!

CareerLink Photoshoots

January 14, 2011 ALLENTOWN, PA Alena Middleton was photographed at CareerLink looking for help with employment. Middleton stopped in front of the mirror to check her appearance as if she was going to a job interview. January 14, 2011 (Reina Lopez/PDP).
January 14, 2011 ALLENTOWN, PA Victor Hernandez was photographed at CareerLink working with people who need employment. Victor stopped in front of the mirror to present his appearance and demonstrate proper dressing for a job interview. January 14, 2011
(Reina Lopez/PDP).

I thought the idea of having them stand in front of the mirror underneath the quote "Would you hire this person?" was a creative way to take pictures. My instructors, classmates, and I setted up studio lights correctly for these photos. I made one of the photos black and white because it means something different when it's in color. I LOVE black and white pictures! Do you like the black and white or the color? And why?

January 25, 2011 ALLENTOWN, PA The students at Dieruff High School were at an assembly with representatives from Monster.com explaining the program’s goals and oppurtunities to the students.

January 25, 2011 ALLENTOWN, PA Cathy Taylor explains a career training program from Monster.com to students at William Allen High School on Tuesday. (Reina Lopez/PDP).

My favorite photo is Cathy talking to students about Monster. Because she looks meaningful and I love the expression on her face as she was speaking. Which pictures do think has the most meaning and feeling to it?

My Future Plans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....

Reina Lopez works at the Banana Factory training in Photography and Graphic Design. She is using the program to move up in life, improve herself, and be successful. Because she is a funny, and outgoing person she can see herself as a performer, possibly an actress. A goal that she wants to accomplish is to become a teacher in elementary education, because she would enjoy making a difference in the lives of young children. She also dreams of being a writer, which is currently her hobby.

Little Black Girl Lost two

I'm a writer, but I also enjoy reading. I like reading books that catch my attention and focus me into the book. The type of books I enjoy reading are drama, action, and horror books. My favorite arthur is Keith Lee Johnson, and he wrote the book Little Black Girl Lost the series, and plenty of other books. I read the first part, and now I'm reading the second part, and eventually I'll read the third, fourth, and fifth parts. It is about a young teenage black girl that makes major decisions about her life. The choices she makes affects the people around her. I'd recommend this book to others because the story talks about how it was for black women in the 1950's. A book that I'm personally writing about is based on a young teenage girl that goes through tough experiences and realizes she is on her own at a early age. Anyone who wants to share me books they read or write do not hesitate to tell me I'm all ears!

MY BOOK

I'm so excited and nervous about writing my own book. My co-workers and myself are creating our own books. We decide on how we want to make it and what to put in it. I still don't know what I want to name my book. I do know what I like my book to be based on. The book would basically be about me and my stories that I like to share with the world. Things I like and dislike in my personal experiences from the past, present, and future accomplishments I like to overcome. Also, I'll try to find people similar to me and my stories so I can put a face to my story instead of my own. If anyone who wants to tell a story to me that I can relate to let me know. My intentions of this book is to inspire and relate to others, and their stories. I'm really looking forward of hearing from people and what they have to offer!

BLACK&WHITE

© 2010 Reina Lopez
BLACK&WHITE
A black and white photo symbolizes True Love.
Why you ask?
It's a picture that lasts a long time in memories.
Such as, True Love that we never forget.
It's a picture that never changes it's meaning.
Also, True Love doesn't change or die.
The picture only shows two colors, which are black and white.
In True Love there is two sides, it can be good and sad at times.
A black and white photo symbolizes True Love.
What does a black and white photo symbolizes to you?

Anthony Marracini of Connexions Gallery
©2010 Reina Lopez
I went out to Easton to a photoshoot and met up with two photographers. I met a guy name Anthony Marraccini that lives in Easton and is one of the owners of the Connexions fine art, antiques, and hand-crafted gifts gallery. He is a down to earth guy, outspoken, and outgoing! The story about his life and what he had to go through as a kid to young adult was quite interesting. His work as a painter is fantastic and Anthony is indeed talented in multiple areas.

Also, I went to another photoshoot the same day to meet up with another photographer name Ed Eckstein. He also lives in Easton and does his work in a private studio. He loves what he does for a living because he shows it in his work, and the man is wise, and has a talented gift. Enjoys taking pictures of people in black and white. In my opinon I think pictures that are in black and white are much more meaningful and real. Also, Ed thought about it in the same way. His photos are inspiring that grabs your attention and you can possible relate. A photographer is usually outgoing but Ed isn't he is very much layed back, calm person, and interesting to me.

While I was in Easton my classmates, instructors, and I went to a pizzeria to eat lunch. I ate three types of pizzas. I only took pictures of the one pizza I never tried before which was ham and pineapple. It was pretty good but the picture I took made the pizza look delicious. Trying to get good lighting and a perfect angle of the pizza is important. The photographer that inspired me to take pictures of food is Lou Manna. I love his pictures, and how he takes a piece of food or dish, and makes it look fabulous. I'd hope to meet him one day!

5K Women

©2010 Reina Lopez
The 5K was an excellent and great expierence. It was for a great cause and I enjoyed being apart of it. I felt sad about the woman story because my grandma is a breast cancer survivor. Maybe next year I'll walk the 5K for women all over the world!
